We are proud to present the first issue of our monastery newsletter. The title, In Coenaculo, is a reference to our patronal feast in Latin: Beatæ Mariæ Virginis in Cœnaculo (“The Blessed Virgin Mary in the Cenacle”).
This issue is dated Epiphanytide 2012; God willing, in the future, In Cœnaculo will be published quarterly, coinciding with each of the Embertides: Advent, Lent, Whitsuntide and Holy Cross.
This inaugural issue includes:
- a letter from Father Prior, Dom Mark Daniel Kirby, concerning our beginnings in the Diocese of Tulsa and our future plans in the Diocese of Meath, Ireland.
- some words of support for our mission to Ireland from our friends, including His Excellency, our beloved Bishop Slattery, Father John Hogan (of EWTN’s Forgotten Heritage), and Mother Miriam (Moss) of the Lamb of God.
- an excerpt from the letter of our Holy Father, Benedict XVI, to the Irish Church.
- an account of the role of the Little Flower, St Therese of the Child Jesus and the Holy Face, as an agent of Divine Providence in directing us to Ireland.
