Sacred Liturgy
Terce and Holy Mass are celebrated on Sundays and greater feasts at 9:45 am, and on most weekdays at 9:00 am. Vespers are celebrated daily at 5 pm, followed by Benediction of the Most Blessed Sacrament on Sundays, Thursdays, and Fridays. Please note that the space in our oratory for the faithful is limited, but the entrance hall also has pews for overflow.
Gatehouse shop
Our Gatehouse is open from 15 minutes after Holy Mass until 4:45 pm. The shop carries a wide selection of Catholic books from various publishers as well as medals, handmade rosaries, statues, greeting cards, icons, and other similar items. An even wider selection is available on our online shop.
Meeting with a monk
If you wish to speak with a monk, please contact us in advance to request an appointment, giving your name and stating briefly the reason for your request. Please note that, as a rule, the monks do not meet with visitors in the evening after Vespers or on Thursday, which is a day we mark by adoration of the Most Blessed Sacrament and by lectio divina.
Directions to the Monastery
Silverstream Priory is located just northwest of the village of Stamullen, in County Meath, in the Republic of Ireland.
Stamullen is on the border with County Dublin, only 23 km (about 30 minutes) from the Dublin Airport. The village lies just off the M1 motorway, some 35 km north of Dublin City and beside the River Delvin.
You can generate driving directions by using the map below (click on the ‘Directions’ icon, and then type in your starting address). Please note, however, that many visitors tell us that they get lost when using Google Maps to get to us. Apparently the directions provided by Apple Maps are more reliable. If you find yourself in the village of Stamullen and near Whyte’s Bar, or St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, you can proceed south west down Gormanston Road until you come to the five way intersection; make a right turn onto what Google Maps labels ‘Silverstream Ct.’ The road sign will indicate that Bellewstown is 6 km in the same direction. Take this road and about 2 km later you will arrive with the Priory on your right. Once you arrive, look at the sign on our Gatehouse door for directions to our oratory.
